The Love List {28 Jan 2011}

It’s the end of another lovely week here on Cap Classique and this time it has been ALL about rustic and farm weddings. We had spectacular mountain scenery with traditional rustic South African details on Tuesday, burlap details on Wednesday, a fun and original dairy farm wedding on Thursday and a peach orchard engagement session earlier today! I must say, although I am a big fan of farm style weddings myself, I’m kind of amazed at just how much of a phenomenon they are in Cape weddings right now. Keep ‘em coming, brides and grooms!

The Love List {19 Nov 2010}

Oh, Friday. The best day of the week. I can’t tell you how excited I am to see the end of this week and have a whole two days of weekend ahead of me! And speaking of excitement, it has been non-stop buzz on Mud Island all week with Wills and Kate finally making the big announcement. Very cute. It has me feeling very nostalgic for the last big royal wedding (yes, I really am that old). Of course, I was only a preschooler then, but I remember watching Princess Diana’s wedding in AWE and then acting it out with my best friend. I had short hair, so I had to be Charles. :(
Anyway, rest assured that I will be giving you all the updates from the frontline, as it were, in my own special way, starting later today.

Another reason I’m feeling totally excited at the moment is that in just over TWO WEEKS (!) I am heading back to Cape Town and Durbs. I can’t wait to spend some time driving around between CT city and the winelands, seeing friends old and new, but so much still to organise before I go! And I can’t wait even more to spend Christmas with my family (first time in nine years!). YAAAAAAAY!

Evening folks! Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was fab – we had such a brilliant time at my friend’s hen do and everything went off as planned. We started with a wine tasting and dinner, and carried on into the wee hours – needless to say we were all feeling as rough as a rhino’s bum this morning! All the details (and possibly some DIY) will be with you in the next few weeks, but until then here’s some awesome from around the web.

Friday again! For once I have to admit I’m not totally thrilled to see the weekend roll around, since on Sunday I’ll be tackling my first ever half marathon and I’m a little terrified! At least it looks like it won’t be raining, and my friends and colleagues have been super generous in sponsoring me and supporting my chosen charity, the Starfish Greathearts Foundation. Just thinking about the money raised will help to inspire me to get through it, I hope! Whatever you’re doing this weekend, hope it brings you lots of inspiration too!

A pinch and a punch for the first of the month! It’s October (how did that happen so fast?) and this one promises to be our best month yet! Ah, Autumn in London. Rain, rain and more rain. Tube strikes and train delays. Some days I wonder why I live here at all, especially when my fellow South Africans are having a sunny day off for Heritage Day (and National Braai Day!). I’m feeling very jealous, but I hope all of you have a wonderful long weekend! I have a chilled one ahead with lots of DIY to keep me busy… But you’ll just have to wait a while to see that!

The Love List {17 Sept 2010}

Morning folks! For anyone who might imagine me putting this blog together on a sexy little MacBook, let’s just say, not so much. In fact, all the magic happens on a tiny little laptop which is the property of my fine employers, and in computer years, I think she’s just hit the difficult teenager stage. It all went horribly wrong yesterday, which meant sitting in the basement surrounded by IT guys with my head in my hands, and may or may not have involved superglue. The point is, I have a lovely wedding you were supposed to see yesterday, but instead you’re going to get to see it this afternoon. Yay! So do stop by later, because the joy and vibrancy of this couple will really make your Friday afternoon!

Happy Sunday folks! I wouldn’t normally post on a weekend, but I didn’t get the chance to do this roundup on Friday and the links are just too cool not to share. So here I am at the end of my Sunday, in between pizza and ice cream, with some dodgy reality TV in the background… if only Sunday nights could last forever! I don’t think I’ve ever been happier to see a weekend come along, since after a looooooooong time without any kind of holiday, I’ll be taking a few days off after the UK public holiday on Monday and having some ‘me time’ at a spa.
