Good morning, lovelies! It’s been such an exciting weekend here at SBB headquarters, with the Olympics hitting London! I have been well and truly getting into the spirit – I watched the amazing opening ceremony with friends on Friday, and then yesterday I was lucky enough to have tickets to an event (women’s volleyball, USA vs Korea and Turkey vs Brazil). I hadn’t watched volleyball since high school but wow, what a fantastic evening of sport – those ladies were just amazing, and both games were so exciting. It was such a thrill to think “I am at an actual Olympics event”, and to be able to cross one more item off my “100 things to do in my life” list. Today I’ll be heading to my old home in Putney to see the cycling go past, and I have more Olympics stuff coming up next week. So yay! I hope those of you who are here in London are enjoying it as much as I am!
On another note, this has been a great week on the blog, not just because I have been lucky enough to have amazing content to share, but also because of you. On Monday I asked for submissions for the next Real Life Bride (you can still do this, by the way, until Tuesday) and I have been so heartwarmed by the response! Sometimes as a blogger you feel like you’re talking to yourself, but to hear your stories and know some of my readers better has been wonderful – it’s going to be so hard to choose! Anyway, thank you. And here’s what you missed on SBB: Beach Gleam | Peaches and Cream | Menu Supreme | Rustic Dream | Grey Colour Scheme | Pretty Extreme | Ice Cream Team. Stay tuned for more fabulousness next week!
Happy Monday afternoon, friends – hope your week has kicked off to a fabulous start! I didn’t have a chance to post my favourite finds on the weekend, but I figured rather late than not at all, so here they are now. So much awesomeness coming out of Blogland at the moment!
It’s the weekend! This one is bittersweet for me, folks, as it’s my last in South Africa. I can’t believe how quickly my time has gone and I know I’ll feel devastated to get on that plane, but at the same time, I’m looking forward to getting back to London, seeing my friends there, watching the Queen have her Jubilee, being part of the Olympics, hanging with my housemates, giving the kittens a cuddle, enjoying Pimms in the sunshine, and not having to listen to Saffas tell me they’re freezing when it’s 24 degrees. (Seriously, people. I know I’ve lived overseas for a decade, but that’s not cold.) Before I go I have a very exciting photo shoot in the works in Cape Town next week with an incredible team of suppliers, and a few rushed meetings with lovely industry peeps and friends. But this time next week, I’ll be on a plane to London (well, Dubai, but then London) and wishing I could do it over again. AS ALWAYS. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of this country.
It’s the end of another lovely week here on Cap Classique and this time it has been ALL about rustic and farm weddings. We had spectacular mountain scenery with traditional rustic South African details on Tuesday, burlap details on Wednesday, a fun and original dairy farm wedding on Thursday and a peach orchard engagement session earlier today! I must say, although I am a big fan of farm style weddings myself, I’m kind of amazed at just how much of a phenomenon they are in Cape weddings right now. Keep ‘em coming, brides and grooms!
There is, of course, more awesome on the blog next week but in the meantime, take a moment to sign up for the Cap Classique newsletter, which hits inboxes very soon. Plus, you could be in line for a fun little prize (and lots more prizes and discounts in the months to come).
Happy Friday, lovelies!! It’s been a great week on Cap Classique (our busiest yet!) and I have so much more coming your way from Monday. If you want to keep up to date, add yourself to our Facebook community!
Whew, what a week! Busy busy busy. My inbox is absolutely overflowing – so much awesomeness to share with all of you in the coming weeks! And Cap Classique has had some lovely recent mentions around the web. First, we were included in the Everything Wedding Blog Carnival! Being mentioned alongside some of my favourite wedding blogs absolutely made my week, and it was also a chance to check out some new ones. Have a look – you won’t be disappointed!
