Pastel Boho Styled Shoot by Kaitlyn de Villiers Photography

Happy Friday, friends! What do you have planned for this weekend? I have one of my besties in town, and we have tip top seats for the rugby on Saturday, so I am amped for that. Love me my Sharks! Anyway, before that happens, we have a day full of pastelly goodness here on the blog, starting with this sweet as candy styled couple shoot from Kaitlyn de Villiers. From pastel cocktails to delicious desserts to the most gorgeous floral crown, it indulges all of my girliest blush and mint/aqua fantasies. Hooray!

Kaitlyn was inspired to create the shoot when visiting her parents in Mossel Bay for a mini holiday – her inspiration was to show brides that weddings can be soft and romantic with a little edge. She combined soft pastels and a touch of vintage, as well as a little boho chic to do just that. Along the way, she had some hilarious experiences, especially in trying to track down a vintage wedding dress in Mossel Bay – after a disasterous experience in a salon where she was bitten by a pet monkey (!) she happened upon the perfect dress in the back room of a second hand shop in town. For the shoot, she overhauled her folks’ home, polished up family silver and china, rounded up her mom’s collection of cookie jars in all shapes and sizes, and bought bucket loads of sweets. She even wrote on the walls with chalk – much to her mother’s horror! Then it was off to the forest with her models and camera equipment, to create the magic we’re sharing today. It just shows, you can find your inspiration anywhere :)
