Paper flowers

It started with Chanel’s Spring 2009 show in Paris, when the room was covered in white paper flowers and the models wore paper flower tiaras. Now paper flowers are popping up all over the place as a wedding style accent, and I love them! There’s something so fresh and unexpected about them, and their clean lines and bold colours can be a great way to add some DIY style to your day. You can also incorporate textures and prints. Of course, you’ll want to make sure you use good quality materials and get lots of practice first, to ensure your blooms look crisp and professional.

Style Me Pretty recently featured this gorgeous wedding that used a mixture of real flowers for the bride and bridesmaids and paper flowers on the tables, and the combination works wonderfully. I love how the flowers are a little bit oversized and surreal – so fun! Some highlights:
