SouthBound Bride welcomes submissions from photographers, planners and suppliers – even from brides! We regularly publish the following features. Please read the guidelines for different types of features below, and submit your material to:

PLEASE NOTE: Editorial quality is of the utmost importance here at SBB. We do accept guest posts from: industry pros, brides/readers inside South Africa, DIY contributors. However, we do not accept guest posts from inbound marketing agencies or similar. Should you wish to discuss sponsored post options, please see here.

SouthBound Bride is a South African wedding blog, so I only accept real weddings that took place in South Africa. The blog’s main focus is on the Cape, but I love to see beautiful celebrations from the rest of the country too! To submit, please send a blog link (for photographers) or a selection of images as an attachment or preferably via Dropbox (610 pixels across) to give me an idea of the whole design (please remember to include decor and details!), as well as some basic information about the wedding including the couple’s email address. If your submission is successful, I’ll send them a few questions about the Big Day, and request their list of suppliers. Please note: I don’t always require exclusivity, but if you have submitted the wedding elsewhere, please let me know up-front. I try to respond to all submissions within two weeks, so if you haven’t heard back by then, please get in touch. And if you’re not the photographer, please ensure you have checked with them before submitting anything to me.

SouthBound Bride is happy to accept submissions for photo shoots from anywhere in the world. Please send a blog link or selection of images as an attachment or preferably via Dropbox (minimum 610 pixels across) and some information about the shoot including location and suppliers (in the case of styled shoots). We’re suckers for romance here, so if possible please tell me how the couple met or their proposal story in the case of engagement and other couple shoots. As with weddings, please let me know if you have submitted the shoot elsewhere as well – PLEASE be honest here. If you think I won’t know if it’s gone up somewhere else, you’re probably wrong. I read hundreds of blogs. It may not always be a problem, but it’s only fair to give me correct information.

Hen parties are a new feature on SouthBound Bride, and I’d love to hear from real brides (or bridesmaids!) about what they’ve planned, especially if it was unusual or creative! Professional quality photographs are ideal, but we may be able to work with happy snaps – please chat to me via email if you have questions. Parties don’t need to be in South Africa, but it always helps!

SBB regularly features guest posts from suppliers and friends, and we welcome new contributors! Most guest posters offer tips and advice or inspiration, but readers also LOVE DIY contributors or printable downloads. However, please note that while we’re happy for contributors to link to their blogs or businesses, these are editorial features and NOT advertisements. (Sponsored Posts are available as an advertising option – please email advertising{at}southboundbride{dot}com for more details.)

For every wedding there’s a honeymoon, and we love sharing great destinations with our readers (especially if they’re accessible to couples getting married in South Africa). Please get in touch to discuss options.

If you think SBB needs to know about your service or venue, or if you’d like to be included in our listings, I’d love to hear from you! However, please note the South African focus of the blog – if your market is the US (or other) and especially if you don’t ship internationally, this probably isn’t the right fit for you.
